By enrolling in a class, you are committing to the ENTIRE duration of the course (Regular Session typically September to March; Summer Session typically June to first week of August). If you are not fully confident you will attend at least 80% of the class, please do not enroll in a class.
Athletes must notify us when they are unable to attend a scheduled class. Send an email to flip@theflipsidenwa.com as soon as they know they will miss a class and include the exact date(s) the athlete will be missing. Letting us know this is very important as it allows the coach ample time to create lesson plans that are most beneficial of every athlete in the class.
Missed classes cannot be exchanged, refunded, or credited for another lesson/class/event/service. We understand athletes sometime must miss a scheduled class. There is no penalty for missed classes; however, if an athlete misses too many classes, they may be asked to leave the class in order to make room for another athlete that can attend consistently.
We ensure that all Program Group Classes will have 28-weeks of classes and all Skill Development Class will have 12-weeks of classes. Classes are not scheduled on holidays, and thus there no make-up classes for holidays. You can learn more about these classes in the FAQs of our website.

If cancellation is needed within 24 hours of your lesson due to a sickness or unforeseen circumstance, you can receive only a 50% credit of the cancelled appointment for future use. This credit will be issued within 72 hours of cancellation.

The Flip Side is closed for all major holidays.
For lessons, holiday closures will already be blocked off on the scheduling calendar eliminating availability.
We avoid scheduling class on national holidays, but in the rare case a classes missed due to holidays are offset by the months where athletes receive 5 lessons instead of 4. There is no “make up” class or refund for these classes.
-
For inclement weather closures, a post will also be made on The Flip Side Instagram account/stories.
If you are scheduled to have a private lesson, class or event that day, you will receive a message directly from us detailing what options are available for the impacted appointment.
FOR PRIVATE LESSONS: Typically, when private lessons are canceled due to inclement weather, we will add 1 makeup day to a coach’s schedule. For the athletes unable to book a makeup appointment on that makeup day, a credit equal to the amount of the canceled lesson(s) will be issued to the athlete for use toward future private lessons.
FOR CLASSES: Classes unable to be held in-person due to inclement weather will have a live Zoom class with their coach instead. We will notify athletes as soon as an inclement weather closure is determined and provide details and access to their Zoom class. We aim to hold these Zoom classes at the same time as the regularly scheduled class time. There are no in-person make-up classes in these circumstances.
No refunds or credits are issued for reoccurring classes that are not held due to inclement weather.
FOR ONE-TIME EVENTS: Events (such as clinics, Flip-in-Fridays, Pop-Up Open Gyms, etc.) canceled due to weather will either be rescheduled or participants will be refunded for the canceled event.
THE FLIP SIDE FAQ’S
-
All ages and skill levels are welcome at The Flip Side! Private lessons are recommend to athletes who can hold a focused attention span for at least 30 minutes.
Tumbling early in life helps with motor skills, flexibility/balance, confidence, cognitive functions, & more! What athletes learn through tumbling teaches body-control and coordination that translates well into many other sport. It's never too late to learn new skills and see what our bodies can do.
-
In order to meet the demand for of current clients, recreational classes are not offered. We currently only offer 28-week Program Group Classes, 12-week Skill Development Classes, and 10-week Summer Skill Development Classes.
We may offer a recreational class in the future, but for now, clinics and Flip-in-Fridays are the next best way to participate in coaching at The Flip Side.

As our client base grew, it became apparent a large number of the clients seeking consistent weekly private lessons attend the same outside programs. Thus, Program Group Classes were developed.
Enrollment in a Program Group Class is a seven-month-long commitment. There are 28-weeks of classes, typically running from September to March, excluding the weeks of Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Spring Break. Athletes are charged a monthly tuition for attendance.
Program Group Classes are structured around athletes on outside school teams or competitive dance/cheer programs as a chance to work skills and technique specific to that group’s routines/dances/needs. Compared to typical larger acro or tumbling classes offered at schools/programs, these small group classes at The Flip Side allow athletes to work more skills per class, have more repetitions at each skill station, and gives more hands-on coaching time per athlete. These classes are designed as complementary courses to their outside program.
The time commitment to outside competitive programs often limits these athletes to the same 1 or 2 days a week they can attend lessons at The Flip Side. Since we work with so many athletes at the same outside programs, there is simply not enough available coaching hours on those couple days to give weekly private lessons to each athlete. Program Group Classes ensure there are more spots available to these competitive athletes.
Classes (as opposed to 1:1 lessons) foster the unique environment of group encouragement; as fellow teammates celebrate each other’s successes and build even stronger connections among athletes.
To be as fair as possible, no outside program will have more than two dedicated Program Group Classes in a season.
-
These classes are targeted toward athletes we do not offer a dedicated Program Group Class for or athletes working toward joining an outside program in the future.
Skill Development Classes are a 12-week-long commitment. Offered 2 sessions per year (spring & fall). Sessions run from September to November and March to May (excluding Spring Break week). We also offer Summer Skill Development Classes that are 10-weeks long running from June to the first week of August. Athletes are charged the entire tuition amount for the course upon enrollment. Enrollment typically opens 4-6 weeks prior to class start date.
Skill Development Classes generally include tumbling class for levels Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced; as well as, Acro classes levels 1, 2 and 3. Additional Skill Development Classes we have offered include a Handsprings & Tucks Technique class and Ballex. These may rotate from session to session
Classes (as opposed to 1:1 lessons) foster the unique environment of group encouragement; as fellow athletes celebrate each other’s successes and build new connections.
In order to give opportunity to the maximum number of athletes, we do not allow athletes to attend consecutive sessions; unless the class is not filled within 1-week of the class start date.

To Name a Few:
Guaranteed spot on a coach’s schedule! Coaching hours fill up fast. Being in a class eliminates the need to manually book each appointment or worrying if there is still an available time that works in your schedule.
Consistency! Classes being held at the same day and time each week makes planning schedules easier. Booking private lessons are done on a first-come-first-serve basis, and remaining bookable time slots vary greatly week to week. Class enrollment eliminates the headache of finding a consistently available lesson time.
Held during the best times! Classes are often scheduled during the highest demanded hours. This eliminates the need to be “fast enough” to book the most convenient appointment times.
Cost Savings! Athlete’s get 4 hours of coaching for the same price as 2 hours of private lessons.
Athletes enrolled in a Class are still free to schedule additional private lessons anytime. One-off private lessons are great for working a specific skill or part of a routine that might need additional practice outside of the class.
-
Complete the "New Athlete Onboarding Class" for EACH athlete using the same parent name, phone number, and email. This will create multiple clients for the admin. When scheduling a lesson, simply type in the name of the athlete that will be attending the lesson.

We love getting to work with multiple athletes from the same family! While there is no direct discount for siblings, you can book a share private lesson for a lower per-athlete-cost.
That is, you can book a private lesson at full price and add a second athlete to that same appointment for half of the cost of an individual lesson.
Example: For a 30-minute private lesson, $40 for first sibling + $20 for second sibling to attend same private lesson = $60 total (or $30 per athlete).

Clothing that is easy to move in. Such as t-shirts, tank tops, sports bras, shorts, leggings, etc. Please make sure clothing is tight enough that when going upside down it doesn't cover your eyes. Please have hair tied back and appropriate footwear based on activity.
-
Parents can drop off their athlete or stay in lobby area. To keep lessons and classes focused on coaching, parents are not allowed in the gym area.
Parking and seating are limited, so please be courteous of sharing the space with others. There are two parking spaces directly in front of the studio for drop-off and pick up only. If you intend to stay for the lesson, please use additional parking spaces at the end of our building to the suite. Please do not use or block parking spaces for the other suites.

The best ways to spot last-minute openings is to regularly check the calendar on the scheduling app AND to watch The Flip Side Instagram stories! Occasionally there will be a calendar adjustment that will not appear on the public scheduling app (like added makeup days for snowed out lessons), if there is an unfilled gap on those days, it will be posted it on the Instagram story.
To be fair to every athlete, no direct messages will be sent to any individual regarding these open spots.
-
You can easily book and pre-pay for several future lessons at a time to guarantee your athlete's spot on the schedule. Payment for ALL scheduled appointments is due at the time of booking.
-
Only one of the attending parties needs to book the appointment. Schedule a private lesson for one of the athletes and then use the add-on feature to add a second athlete to that appointment for the additional fee. The person booking will pay for the full cost of the shared lesson. This appointment will only be displayed on the booking parties account.
Example: For a 1-hour private lesson, $80 base price for first athlete + $40 for second athlete to attend the private lesson = $120 total (or $60 per athlete).
It is left to the attending parties to determine how to share the cost of the lesson outside of the scheduling platform. For athletes consistently doing 2-person private lessons, we recommend alternating who pays for each lesson or each month.
-
Yes, you can retroactively add another athlete to an already scheduled private lesson. The additional athlete MUST ALREADY BE AN EXISTING ATHLETE at The Flip Side. (Not open to new athletes). $20 for a 30-minute lesson
$40 for a 1-hour private lesson
Go to Additional Services and select the lesson length that matches the existing lesson in order to complete the shared lesson upgrade.
